Mother's Memories: A Special Mother's Day Edition Story!

When I was 49 years old, my 4 kids were grown and gone.. I was at a conference in Charlotte, NC, and this man walks right up to me and says he has a Word from the Lord for me! Ok.... He says "he sees me moving in my ministry with kids around me..that I was raising kids with calls of God on their lives.." I laughed.. Okay...

A few days later.. In a meeting.. A prophet prays for me and says "he sees my garden blooming.." I would no longer be barren!  Well! (I was 49, and not thinking at all about babies)  One more prophet gave the same word.. 3 words in a week.. Something to think about, right? RIGHT! Nah. A few months later...(we were foster parents for troubled teens.. And, the agency called us and asked us if we would take 4 month old twins!)  and we said YESSSS!  

They had been subjected to horrific amounts of alcohol thru the womb as the birth mom drank about a case of beer a day.. It was Fetal alcohol syndrome..we had no idea what it had done to our babies that we adopted..


Our boy.. Zeke.. Had some learning issues.. But GOD IS RESTORING HIM!!! Just this year.. He has jumped up 2 levels in one year! He needed for that to happen, he was testing below his peers..not anymore!!

Our little girl .. Shelby.. was diagnosed with a siezure disorder when she was 2 years old. And unfortunately.. she experienced a devastating reaction to her TDAP vaccination.. It put her into a siezure event that left her INCUBATED in the pediatric intensive care unit for several days.. She was so heavily sedated to combat the status epilepticus her little brain was going through. They weren't sure what her mental status would be after she woke up.. Honestly.. They weren't sure she WOULD WAKE UP.. Or if she would still be able to walk, talk, feed herself.. But, the Doctors didn't count on the Prayers of the Saints going up on Shelbys behalf!!!

A week later.. I was reading to my sleeping child. Her daddy had gone to bring us some lunch.. Suddenly... I heard a sweet little voice... Singing : "Twinkle, twinkle, little star..."  TEARS!!! I jumped up.. called the nurse. Everybody came running in.. The Doctors were SHOCKED!  Our little girl lived !!! And is in her special needs class.. 4 th grade.. She reads.. She googles kids shows on her tablet.. She had stunned the medical staff! We have to give God all the glory.. HE DID THAT!
